Movie News: 24 MOVIE BEGINS SHOOTING...SOON!

It's been a long time coming, but according to Deadline, the 24 movie has received a start date, with filming  to begin spring 2012. Everything's in place, they just have to wait for Kiefer Sutherland to free up some time in his busy schedule.

One good thing about a feature film version is you don't have to trawl through 24 episodes to find out how it ends, so that's a touch.  You also won't have to sit through those slightly bland middle-of-the-series episodes, which is another touch!

So, are you looking forward to this or has too much time past since the TV series finished? Let me know your thoughts by commenting below.

  1. I'm still stuck somewhere around Series 4 or 5, I can't quite remember. When the show started it was so fresh and dynamic, but did get a little tired. Maybe a movie will be the change it needs, but quite how the 'Day in the Life' concept that worked so well will relate to this I can't imagine. Maybe it'll be 120 minutes of Jack's life? What's guaranteed is more Jack being tough, relentless and fast-paced and that's a good thing.

  2. I LOVE 24 and can't wait to see the film, not sure how they will fit as many twists and turns in the plot in a 2 hour film, but I'm sure it will be brilliant.

  3. Thanks for your comment Guy. If it ends up being set in LA again they won't get much done in two hours. It takes that long to drive from one side to the other, let alone foil a terrorist plot!! ;)

  4. I'm a fan too Claire, although there were a couple of shaky series. Let's hope the film reminds us why we loved Bauer so much.

  5. I think it will be a 2 hour meeting... just to slow the pace down a bit... :-)

  6. Lol! Thanks Mohammad. Although that sounds like most of the episodes from Season 6! ;)

    1. Actually Season 6 holds the records for the most explosions, shootouts, torture scenes and deaths in 1 season of the show. People gave it a hard time but one thing is for sure - season 6 was full of action, no matter how predictable or recycled people think the plot was.
