UK Top Ten: 8-10th April 2011

Not the greatest week at the UK box office and with the Easter holidays upon us, it's no surprise to see Rio storm into the number one spot. Source Code continues to make fairly decent money, just snatching second place and pushing Limitless into third.

Some great films coming out over the next few weeks though, including Kenneth Branagh's Thor and Hanna starring Eric Bana.  You can check out my review of that film in two weeks' time.

Movie News: SUPERMAN VILLAIN CONFIRMED!

As I mentioned a few weeks ago, Michael Shannon was one of the few actors being lined up to star in the latest Superman movie. Well, now it's been officially confirmed that Michael Shannon has been cast as General Zod in Zack Snyder's Superman: Man of Steel. He joins Henry Cavill (Superman), Amy Adams (Lois Lane), Kevin Costner (Jonathan Kent) and Diane Lane (Martha Kent).

Anyone who has seen him play a disturbing FBI agent in Boardwalk Empire will agree that he is an inspired choice and I cannot wait to see what he will bring to the role made famous by Terence Stamp in Superman II.
