<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
I've been waiting for the full trailer of the new 007 film for a while now and it's finally arrived! Sam Mendes was an interesting choice for director, but judging by this two and half minute taster, he's done and incredible job. Everything you'd expect from a Bond movie and more. </div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
In recent years, one of the only things that has really let these films down is a dodgy villain. The best 007 movies have the greatest villains; <i>Goldfinger</i>, <i>Dr No</i>, <i>View To A Kill</i> and any of the films starring a cat stroking Blofeld! Getting Javier Bardem on board to play the villain in <i>Skyfall</i> was a stroke of genius, as anyone who's seen <i>No Country For Old Men</i> will attest to. I'm not sure about the blond hair though, he reminds me of Christopher Walken as Zorin in <i>A View To A Kill</i>...not that that's a bad thing!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Anyway, take a look at the trailer below and let me know what you think by commenting below.</div>

<br />
<div style="text-align: left;">
From the moment I heard Zack Snyder was directing the new Superman film and Christopher Nolan was producing I knew it was going to be something very special. <i>Man of Steel</i> isn't being released for another year and there has hardly been any information leaked about the plot, the villain or the look of the film. Even at ComicCon last week, neither Zack Snyder or Henry Cavill (Superman) would confirm whether the villain would be General Zod, although the chances are it probably will be.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Anyway, we now have out first look at this movie as Warner Bros have released not one, but two teaser trailers. They're both exactly the same, apart from one is voiced by Kevin Costner (Jonathan Kent) and the other by Russell Crowe (Jor-El). As they both play the Father role to Superman it's a nice touch and they both have different words of wisdom to impart.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
My favourite is the Russell Crowe version, so that's the one you can watch below. If this trailer is anything to go by, <i>Man of Steel</i> is going to be really good, if not incredible. With the Batman trilogy at an end, I'd love to see a new Superman trilogy emerge. We'll find out just how good it is on June 14th 2013.</div>

<br />
<div style="text-align: left;">
The original <i>Total Recall </i>was a great film, sure it had its faults, but it was a proper thrill ride. Arnie at his best, Michael Ironside being evil, an arse kicking Sharon Stone, what more did you need? Brilliant. </div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
So, when I heard they were going to remake it with Colin Farrell, I thought it was going to be a big mistake. That was until I watched the full trailer the other day. It looks superb! If you don't believe, take a look at the trailer below. It's about time Colin Farrell got a decent part and reminded everyone he can hold his own when it comes to action movies. </div>

<i>Total Recall</i> hits cinemas in the UK in August.</div>

Whilst<i> The Hunger Games</i> continues to make a gazillions dollars around the world, it's no surprise a sequel is already in the works and even has a release date of November 22nd 2013. <i>Hunger Games: Catching Fire</i> will begin filming at the end of the summer this year and will see the beautiful Jennifer Lawrence reprise her role as Katniss Everdeen. </div>

<br />
<div style="text-align: left;">
This trailer has been out for a while, but I really liked it and wanted to get it up on the blog. It's no secret I'm a big Bruce Willis fan and Joseph Gordon-Levitt has starred in some of my favourite films over the last few years, most noticeably<i> Inception</i>. </div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
The film is <i>Looper</i> and it's a sort of a mash up of <i>Time Cop</i> and <i>Jumper</i>, which definitely gets my attention as they're both on my guilty pleasures movie list. The only thing that worries me is the release date at the end of September. If this was an amazing film wouldn't it have been given a summer release? Perhaps this summer is too full and they didn't want it to get lost in the mix? I hope that's the reason. Occasionally, Bruce Willis makes some crap films (<i>Cop Out, Surrogates</i>) and I don't want this to be his next one. If the trailer's anything to go by, it should be brilliant.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Check it out below and let me know what you think. I have a feeling this could be one of the surprise hits of 2012. </div>

<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Not too much longer to wait until <i>The Dark Knight Rises</i> hits cinemas this summer. Over the last few weeks the hype has been continuing to build with more teasers and posters being released. Well here's one you may not have seen yet. It's a simple sexy image, but it says a lot and I have no doubt there are thousands of comic book fan boys out there with a new screen saver.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Take a look at the poster below and make sure you check out one of the most highly anticipated films of the year when <i>The Dark Knight Rises</i> is released in the UK on July 20th 2012.</div>

There are some great films being released this year, but Ridley Scott's <i>Alien</i> prequel, <i>Prometheus</i> has to be the one I'm anticipating the most. I've been a fan of Scott ever since I first saw <i>Blade Runner</i> and he is arguably one of the best directors this country has ever produced.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
So far I've liked the trailers, but they haven't blown me away. That all changed however, when I watched the brand new trailer below. It is incredible! </div>

</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">Here is Emma Watson as you've never seen her before and it's a long way from Hogwarts. These shots were taken on the set of her new movie, Sophia Coppola's <i>The Bling Ring</i>. The film is based on the true life story of a group of teens that robbed various celebrity homes in 2008 and stole around $3m.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">Looking at these pictures of Emma feels a bit inappropriate, but I think it's because I watched her grow up in the Harry Potter films, so seeing her dressed in hot pants and flashing her stomach just seems wrong somehow. I have no doubt there'll be a whole new generation of men (and some women) who will have no problem enjoying the fact she's hot though! </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><i>The Bling Ring</i> is released next year.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />

</div><div style="text-align: left;">It's been a long time coming, but finally, here's the first full length trailer for the reboot of everyone's favourite arachnid hero, <i>The Amazing Spiderman</i>.</div><div style="text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: left;">It's looks great, but yet again I have concerns about the CGI. Why is it some films get it right (Star Trek) and others fail (Twilight)? We only get to see a few quick glimpses of The Lizard, but it's enough to get me worried. They do have another five months before release, so maybe there's some tweaking still to do, but at the moment I'm not impressed. Other than that, the film looks to have a lot of potential and I'm a fan of Andrew Garfield, so am keen to see what he can do with the role.</div><div style="text-align: left;"><br />

</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: left;">It's been a long time coming, but according to <a href="http://www.deadline.com/" target="_blank">Deadline</a>, the 24 movie has received a start date, with filming to begin spring 2012. Everything's in place, they just have to wait for Kiefer Sutherland to free up some time in his busy schedule.</div><div style="text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: left;">One good thing about a feature film version is you don't have to trawl through 24 episodes to find out how it ends, so that's a touch. You also won't have to sit through those slightly bland middle-of-the-series episodes, which is another touch!</div><div style="text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: left;">So, are you looking forward to this or has too much time past since the TV series finished? Let me know your thoughts by commenting below.</div>Unknownnoreply@blogger.com7tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8558120812312500471.post-58542475078526694452011-11-29T08:47:00.000-08:002011-11-29T08:47:51.604-08:00Movie News: THE NEW 'Q'!There's no denying that the new Bond movie 'Skyfall' has pulled together an impressive cast. Alongside regulars, Daniel Craig and Dame Judi Dench are; Javier Bardem, Ralph Fiennes, Albert Finney and Naomi Harris. They will also be joined by young British actor Ben Whishaw, although we had no idea idea which character he's be playing.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-jvUUDkKnWGs/TtUMQeNaSsI/AAAAAAAAAv8/bImThJCNWLQ/s1600/whishaw.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-jvUUDkKnWGs/TtUMQeNaSsI/AAAAAAAAAv8/bImThJCNWLQ/s1600/whishaw.jpg" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><br />
Well, it has now been officially confirmed that he will be playing 'Q', master of all things gadgety. This will make him the youngest 'Q' ever in the Bond series by about seventy years!<br />
<br />
Some hardcore Bond fans may not like it, but I think it's a great idea to reinvent the character in this way. Also, anyone who's seen 'Perfume', 'The Hour' or 'Criminal Justice' will know what a fantastic actor Ben is. I cannot wait to see what he does with the role and I have more than enough confidence when Sam Mendes is sitting in the director's chair.<br />
<br />

</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">I have no idea how much a film company has to pay to insure Cruise to do this stunt work, but I'd imagine it would be something ridiculous. </div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: left;">This news has come in 'hot off the press' from the US, but I hope, a) it's true and b) they do it over here as well. </div><div style="text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: left;">Basically, there's going to be a six minute preview of Christopher Nolan's <i>The Dark Knight Rises</i> running before <i>Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol</i> which is released on the 26th December 2011. There's one problem though, it's only going to be on screenings that take place at a 70mm IMAX cinemas. Not digital IMAX or 3D screenings. This means there are only a small number of theatres you'll be able to see it in. If you live in London for example, your best bet would be the IMAX cinema next to Waterloo Bridge.</div><div style="text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: left;">I have to admit I'm tempted, especially as <i>The Dark Knight Rises</i> is one of my 'most anticipated films' of next year. Having said that, I don't want to ruin the impact of seeing the whole film, so maybe I shouldn't bother.</div><div style="text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: left;">If it turns out to be true, would you go along to see it? Let me know.</div>Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8558120812312500471.post-15847703424162591272011-10-24T01:31:00.000-07:002011-10-24T01:37:44.891-07:00Trailer of the Week: THIS MEANS WAR<div style="text-align: center;"><br />
<div style="text-align: left;">I'd heard nothing about this film until recently, but having seen the trailer I have to admit it looks pretty good. Ridiculous? Yes. Over the top? Definitely. However, I just know I'm going to enjoy it. I would never have thought to pair up Tom Hardy (Inception) and Chris Pine (Star Trek) in a film like this, but somehow it works.</div><div style="text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: left;">Take a look and let me know what you think.</div><br />

Godfather Part 2, Toy Story 2, X-Men 2 and Empire Strikes Back are the rare success stories.<br />
<br />
Well, 20th Century Fox have just announced release dates for two new film sequels, both of which I hope will be added to the exclusive list above, but I fear at least one of them could be a total #fail!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-xgrvb8aay-c/TqUas7lMedI/AAAAAAAAAqc/7woBJb0HYlg/s1600/diehard.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-xgrvb8aay-c/TqUas7lMedI/AAAAAAAAAqc/7woBJb0HYlg/s320/diehard.jpg" width="210" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><br />
Up first, John McClane is back...again! Bruce Willis returns in <i>A Good Day To Die Hard</i> which is released on Valentine's Day 2013. Interesting choice of date for a 'balls out' action movie. I'm a big <i>Die Hard</i> fan, but none of the three sequels (although good in their own right) ever came close to the original. I enjoyed the last one a lot, I just wish they'd had a better villain. Timothy Olyphant was never given a decent chance to shine and I never felt McClane was ever in real trouble. Also, the scene with him jumping onto a jet fighter was just bloody stupid! Basically, I need to find out who's directing it, who's starring in it and who wrote it! I'll keep you updated.<br />

The second sequel to be announced is <i>Taken 2. </i>When the original was released a few years ago, nobody would thought a Liam Neeson revenge killing movie would be believable, let alone financially successful, but how wrong we all were. I loved this film! Well paced, scripted, directed and acted, it was violent and unrelenting and I couldn't get enough. I remember leaving the cinema and thinking they have to make and a sequel...and they have. It will be released in May 2012, so not too long to wait. Hopefully, there'll be a trailer coming sometime soon.Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0
