In case you hadn't heard, the artist that designed Mike Tyson's tattoo is suing Warner Bros. for breaching copyright, by using the image on one of the actor's faces in
Hangover 2. This still hasn't been resolved and if a settlement isn't agreed, Warner Bros. have said that they will digitally remove the tattoo and replace it with a new one before the film's release on Blu-ray DVD at the end of the year.
Now I'm not a special effects expert, but surely that's going to be an expensive, painstakingly slow, ball ache of a job. Some post production house in LA is going to make an extra $1m bonus this year! If only someone at the movie studio had checked the copyright issue before filming had started...I think I just heard the sound of someone getting fired.
What do you guys think? Is this all a bit ridiculous and should they just pay off the tattoo guy and be done with it?
